Nissan NX7 PHEV Set for Q4 Debut with 225 km Electric Range

Nissan NX7 PHEV Set for Q4 Debut with 225 km Electric Range

Nissan is preparing to introduce the NX7, a plug-in hybrid SUV, in the fourth quarter of this year. According to CarNewsChina, the model will offer up to 225 kilometers of electric-only driving range, a figure that positions it among the leaders in the PHEV segment.

The NX7’s electric range is notably higher than many current plug-in hybrids, which typically deliver between 50 and 100 kilometers. This suggests Nissan is targeting buyers who want to maximize electric driving without range anxiety. The vehicle is expected to compete in China’s growing PHEV market, where local brands like BYD and Li Auto have set high benchmarks for electric range.

While full specifications remain under wraps, the NX7 is likely to feature Nissan’s latest hybrid technology, possibly building on the e-Power system. However, a PHEV with such a long electric range would require a larger battery pack, which could impact cost and weight. Nissan has not yet announced pricing or availability outside China.

The launch timing aligns with Nissan’s broader electrification strategy, as the company aims to increase its share of electrified vehicles in key markets. The NX7 could serve as a showcase for Nissan’s plug-in hybrid capabilities, especially as competitors like Toyota and Honda also expand their PHEV lineups.

More details are expected closer to the Q4 launch, including final range figures, powertrain specs, and pricing. For now, the NX7 signals Nissan’s intent to compete in the high-range PHEV space.
