Mercedes-Benz Trucks Hands Over eActros 600 Electric Fleet to Amazon

Mercedes-Benz Trucks has delivered a fleet of eActros 600 electric trucks to Amazon, marking a significant step in the retail giant’s European logistics electrification. The handover highlights how major fleets are increasingly adopting battery-electric heavy-duty vehicles for long-haul operations.

Amazon’s €1bn commitment to electrify its European transport network underscores that the transition now hinges as much on robust charging infrastructure as on the vehicles themselves. Without widespread, high-capacity charging, even the most advanced electric trucks cannot operate at scale.

The eActros 600, with its 500-kilometer range on a single charge, is designed for long-distance haulage. This delivery to Amazon signals growing confidence in electric trucks for demanding routes, but also pressures governments and utilities to accelerate charging build-out.
