Marti Hits 40 Turkish Cities as Ride-Hailing Push Accelerates

Marti Technologies has added ten more Turkish cities to its ride-hailing network, pushing the platform past the 40-city mark nationwide. The Istanbul-based mobility superapp only reached 20 cities this summer, meaning its coverage has effectively doubled in under three months.
The latest wave lands in Afyonkarahisar, Aksaray, Batman, Bolu, Diyarbakır, Isparta, Kütahya, Malatya, Mardin and Nevşehir. Marti says the picks came down to two things: visible ride-hailing demand and thin alternatives for getting around.
Beyond the big four
The bigger story is where Marti’s growth is actually coming from. Istanbul, Ankara, Antalya and Izmir used to carry the business; now the provinces are pulling their weight.
- Riders outside Istanbul: 47% of the total, up from 36% a year earlier
- Drivers outside Istanbul: 38%, compared with 28% over the same stretch
- Total cities served: 40, double the summer figure of 20
Co-founder and President Cankut Durgun told Zag Daily that demand in the newly opened markets came in above what the company had penciled in, which is why the next round of launches followed so quickly. He declined to say how many drivers each city would get, calling it premature while the service is still being built out.
“Just a few months ago, Marti’s ride-hailing service was available in 20 cities. Today, we are in 40.” — Oguz Alper Oktem, Founder and CEO
Marti started life in 2018 and has grown into one of Türkiye’s largest mobility platforms. Ride-hailing sits alongside a rental fleet of e-mopeds, e-bikes and e-scooters — a mix that lets it serve short hops and longer trips on the same app.
The money side
Management is holding firm on its 2026 guidance of $85 million in revenue** and **$7 million in Adjusted EBITDA. The new cities aren’t expected to show up in the numbers until 2028, so the financial case for this expansion is a long-game bet rather than a quick lift.
That gap matters. Marti is spending on field operations and driver recruitment now, with the payoff years away. Whether the provincial bet holds will depend on whether those 20 new markets behave like the four established ones — or fizzle once the novelty wears off.
