Leapmotor Adds a Sporty A10s to Its Lineup, Bundling LiDAR for Around $13,800

Leapmotor has widened its small electric SUV range in China with the A10s, a cosmetically sharper take on the A10 that keeps the same drivetrain and adds a few cabin comforts. The car went on sale on October 18 priced at 92,800 yuan, roughly $13,810.
That sticker puts it 6,000 yuan above the A10 505 LiDAR trim that previously sat at the top of the range. Underneath, little has moved: a single front-mounted motor good for 90 kW (121 hp), a 53 kWh lithium iron phosphate pack, and a CLTC-rated range of 505 km. Charging from 30 to 80 percent takes about 16 minutes, and the footprint is identical to the rest of the family at 4,270 mm long, 1,810 mm wide and 1,635 mm tall, with a 2,605 mm wheelbase and five seats.
So what does the extra money buy? Mostly attitude. Leapmotor has given the A10s an exclusive Mirror Night Black finish, gunmetal-gray badges, 18-inch black sport wheels and a red “S” on the tailgate. Inside, there’s a Modern Gray theme with red stitching and headrest embroidery on the faux-suede seats, plus suction ventilation for the front occupants and ambient lighting in the back.
Same Brain, New Wardrobe
The tech story is carried over wholesale. The A10s runs a Qualcomm SA8295 cockpit chip alongside an SA8650 driver-assistance processor, and it has LiDAR on board. That hardware supports assisted driving on city streets, highways and even parking-space-to-parking-space routes, according to Leapmotor. In the spec table the car appears as the “A10 505S.”
The timing is notable. The A10 range has been a serious volume driver since launching in China on March 26 with four variants spanning 65,800 to 86,800 yuan, and cumulative deliveries hit 153,423 by the end of September. But September also brought the model’s first month-on-month slide: 24,457 units, down 24.08 percent from August’s record 32,214. Even so, the A10 still made up 23.15 percent of Leapmotor’s monthly sales.
That matters because the brand is chasing a one-million-unit annual target. September global deliveries reached a record 105,656 — the third straight month above 100,000 — and the first nine months totaled 666,539. Hitting the full-year goal means averaging about 111,154 cars a month in the fourth quarter, which is above September’s pace. A refreshed, better-equipped A10 variant is one lever Leapmotor can pull as the year closes out.
