LA Auto Show 2026: 24 Brands, 16 Test-Drive Fleets, and the Hybrids, Trucks and Three-Rows Worth a Side-by-Side Look

The 2026 Los Angeles Auto Show opens its doors Nov. 20 and runs through Nov. 29 at the LA Convention Center, and this year the floor carries 24 brands — 16 of which will hand you the keys for a drive, all covered by the price of admission.
If you’re actually shopping rather than just browsing, that combination matters. Nowhere else on the West Coast can you walk from a Kia Telluride Hybrid to a Toyota Highlander in under a minute and feel the difference in person.

The Hybrid Wave
The three-row segment is where the fight is hottest. Kia’s first-ever turbocharged Telluride Hybrid lands with 329 hp and 339 lb-ft, rated at up to 35 mpg combined and a claimed 637-mile range. Toyota answers with the redesigned 2028 Highlander, which goes fully electric with up to 315 miles of range, seating for seven and a standard 14-inch screen.
Smaller hybrids are just as busy:
- 2027 Nissan Rogue Hybrid: Nissan’s e-POWER system arrives in the U.S. for the first time, estimated at 41 mpg city / 36 highway / 38 combined.
- Hyundai Tucson Hybrid: Next-gen sheetmetal dubbed “Art of Steel,” up to 42 mpg, plus the new Pleos infotainment setup.
- Subaru Forester Wilderness Hybrid: 194 hp, standard AWD, 9.3 inches of ground clearance and up to 38% better fuel economy.
Trucks: V8 Drama and an Electric Contender
Chevrolet rolls out the next-generation 2027 Silverado 1500 with fresh 5.7- and 6.6-liter V8s, an upgraded TurboMax, a 16.3-inch center display, a 12.2-inch driver cluster and Super Cruise. Worth a long look before signing anything — the bigger engine isn’t automatically the towing answer.
Ram, meanwhile, revives a beloved badge. The 2027 Ram 1500 Rumble Bee offers the 5.7-liter HEMI, the 6.4-liter 392 HEMI, or a supercharged 6.2-liter Hellcat V8 pushing 777 hp; the top SRT trim reportedly hits 60 mph in 3.4 seconds. GMC’s Sierra EV rounds out the truck floor with a fully electric option.
Three-Row Family Haulers Everywhere
The people-mover aisle is stacked. Beyond the Highlander and Telluride Hybrid, shoppers can climb through the Tesla Model Y L (long wheelbase, three rows, six seats, 332 miles EPA), the Genesis GV90 (Genesis’ first full-size electric flagship SUV), the Cadillac Vistiq, the Buick Enclave and the Lucid Gravity GT-S — the latter throwing down 1,070 hp with rear-wheel steering and adaptive air suspension.
Chrysler’s redesigned 2027 Pacifica keeps Stow ‘n Go for up to eight and adds available all-wheel drive, updated front-end lighting and more driver-assistance tech.
EVs and Performance Machines
- Rivian R2: Up to 656 hp, 0–60 in as little as 3.6 seconds, roughly 330 miles of EPA range, dual-motor AWD and Rivian Autonomy+ hands-free driving.
- Porsche Cayenne Turbo Electric: Porsche’s most powerful production vehicle ever at 1,139 hp, 0–60 in 2.4 seconds, up to 317 miles of range and a 10–80% charge in as little as 16 minutes under ideal conditions.
- Ford Mustang Dark Horse SC convertible: Supercharged 5.2-liter V8, 795 hp — the most potent Mustang convertible Ford has built.
- Dodge Charger Scat Pack: Twin-turbo SIXPACK inline-six, 550 hp and 531 lb-ft, standard AWD with selectable rear drive.
- 2027 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport: 282-hp turbo four, available 4MOTION and an optional 15-inch screen with AI voice help.
Oddballs Worth a Detour
Not everything is a volume seller. Honda brings its Base Station Prototype, a lightweight camping trailer it says many SUVs can tow, shown next to a 2027 Passport TrailSport.
Fiat rolls out the 2027 Topolino, a low-speed EV aimed at resorts and gated communities. Acura previews design direction with the NEXERA Vision concept, shaped in its LA studio, feeding into the fourth-gen RDX Hybrid due in 2028. And Jeep gathers all twelve of its 85th-anniversary Twelve 4 Twelve models in one place for the first time, capped by the 2027 Wrangler Switchback.
Where You Can Actually Drive
Sixteen brands currently plan to put you behind the wheel: Alfa Romeo, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, Fiat, Ford, Jeep, Kia, Lucid, Nissan, Ram, Rivian, Subaru, Tesla, Toyota and Volkswagen. Specific vehicles will be confirmed closer to opening day.
Experiences include street drives through downtown LA, the LADWP Test Track for back-to-back electric and hybrid comparisons outside South Hall, Ford’s Bronco Built Wild ride, the Camp Jeep off-road course and an indoor Nissan ride in South Hall.
Terri Toennies, President of the LA Auto Show, framed the moment plainly: there has rarely been a more interesting time to shop, with buyers juggling powertrain, tech, capability and price all at once.
A Shopper’s Game Plan
- Shortlist three or four vehicles in one category and compare them directly.
- Arrive early — test-drive slots fill fast.
- Use the electrified track to feel hybrid versus EV differences yourself.
- Sit in row two and three, not just the driver’s seat.
- Grill the product specialists on range, towing and real-world economy — no sales pressure here.
- Photograph window stickers so you can sort it all out at home.
Public tickets are available through LAAutoShow.com, and every drive and ride-along comes with admission.
