JSW Combat Set for December 3 Debut in India

JSW Motors has confirmed that its first SUV, the Combat, will make its official debut on December 3. The announcement marks a significant milestone for the JSW Group, which is entering the passenger vehicle market through a partnership with China’s SAIC Motor. The Combat is expected to be a rebadged version of the MG Windsor EV, which is already on sale in India, though JSW will give it its own identity.
The debut event will likely reveal key details about the Combat’s design, features, and powertrain options. While JSW has not yet disclosed full specifications, the model is anticipated to carry over the electric powertrain from the MG Windsor EV. That would mean a 38kWh battery pack and an electric motor producing around 136hp, with a claimed range of approximately 331km on a single charge. The Combat is also expected to retain the Windsor’s distinctive crossover-MPV styling and spacious interior.
JSW’s entry into the automotive sector comes at a time when India’s electric vehicle market is gaining momentum, with several new players and established automakers expanding their EV lineups. The company has outlined ambitious plans, including investments in manufacturing and a focus on both electric and hybrid technologies. The Combat will be the first of several models planned under the JSW brand, with more launches expected in the coming years.
The December 3 debut will be closely watched by industry observers, as it will set the tone for JSW’s future in the competitive Indian auto market. Pricing and availability details are likely to be announced closer to the launch, with deliveries possibly starting in early 2025. With the Combat, JSW aims to carve out a niche in the growing electric SUV segment, leveraging its partnership with SAIC to offer a proven product with a fresh badge.
