Jeep Wagoneer EREV Launch Pushed Back Six Months, Ram 1500 EREV Set for Next Year

Jeep has decided to push back the start of production for its range-extended Wagoneer by roughly half a year, according to a report from Automotive News. Instead of an earlier target, the EREV version of the large SUV is now expected to roll off the line in November.

The move means buyers eager for an electrified Wagoneer will have to wait a little longer. Jeep has not publicly explained the reason for the delay, but the shift keeps the brand’s electrification timeline in flux.

Looking ahead, the same report indicates that a range-extended version of the Ram 1500 pickup will arrive next year, giving Stellantis another EREV option in its North American lineup. EREVs pair a battery-electric drivetrain with a gasoline engine acting as a generator, which can ease range concerns for drivers not ready to go fully electric.
