Inceptio Technology has passed the one-billion-kilometre mark in autonomous trucking operations, a figure that underlines how far the company has pulled ahead of rivals in China’s self-driving freight sector. According to Automotive World, the milestone comes with a domestic market share above 90%, meaning the vast majority of autonomous trucking activity in the country now runs on Inceptio’s technology.

That dominance is not just a numbers story. Scale of this kind feeds directly into the core economics of autonomous driving: more kilometres mean more real-world data, faster refinement of the driving stack, and a cost base that gets harder for newcomers to match. For competitors, the gap is no longer purely technical — it is structural.

Inceptio’s position also says something about how autonomy is arriving in freight.
