Hyundai Motor Group Teams Up with Oman to Advance Green Mobility Under Vision 2040

Hyundai Motor Group has entered into a series of partnership agreements with Oman’s Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, signaling a joint push toward cleaner transportation under the country’s Vision 2040 framework. The collaboration brings together government bodies and private companies to accelerate the sultanate’s shift toward sustainable mobility solutions.

As part of the deal, Hyundai is working with Mwasalat, Oman’s national transport operator, to introduce the country’s first hydrogen-powered city bus in Muscat. The vehicle is expected to serve as a flagship example of how hydrogen technology can be applied to public transit in the region.

On the charging side, the Korean automaker has joined forces with Oman Oil Marketing Company and its EV charging subsidiary EVO to roll out ultra-fast charging infrastructure rated at 240kW. This development aims to address one of the key barriers to EV adoption in the region by reducing charging times and expanding access to reliable infrastructure.

Combined, these initiatives reflect a coordinated effort to build out both hydrogen and battery-electric mobility ecosystems in Oman, aligning with the broader goals of Oman Vision 2040 to diversify the economy and promote environmentally responsible development.
