Hyundai Group Integrates Kaluza Smart Charging Into Its Apps

Hyundai Motor Group is tapping Kaluza’s energy platform to build smart charging directly into its customer-facing digital ecosystems. Instead of relying on third-party apps, drivers will soon find intelligent charge management natively integrated into the Kia and Hyundai apps, enabling them to automatically schedule charging for the most cost-effective times. The deeper aim is to unlock grid services and vehicle-to-grid (V2G) functionality, allowing EVs to serve as mobile storage units that help stabilize the grid. The rollout begins in the UK, with Australia and other markets expected to follow. For Hyundai and Kia owners, this means more than just lower electricity bills — it opens a path to earning rewards for helping balance supply and demand. The move signals a broader industry pivot toward treating the vehicle as an active component of the home and national energy ecosystem, not just a transportation tool.
