Geely's Battleship 700 SUV Charts a Course for Europe in Late 2027

Geely is preparing to bring its Battleship 700 SUV to European showrooms, with the brand targeting a launch in the second half of 2027. The move marks another step in the Chinese automaker’s broader push into overseas markets, where it already sells a growing line of electrified and conventionally powered models.
The Battleship 700, known in China as the Geely Boyue L, is a midsize SUV that slots into the brand’s expanding lineup. Its arrival in Europe signals Geely’s intent to compete in one of the world’s most demanding vehicle markets, where emissions rules, safety standards and consumer expectations are among the toughest globally. The timing places the vehicle in a period when European buyers are expected to have an even wider array of hybrid and electrified crossovers to choose from.
Geely has not yet confirmed which powertrains will be offered in the European version or where the vehicle will be manufactured. The company operates several brands and production facilities across China and Europe, including through its ownership of Volvo Cars and its stake in Polestar, giving it potential flexibility on both engineering and assembly.
The European mid-size SUV segment is already crowded with established players such as the Toyota RAV4, Volkswagen Tiguan and Hyundai Tucson, along with newer entrants from Chinese brands including BYD and MG. Geely’s ability to stand out will likely hinge on pricing, equipment levels and the efficiency of its hybrid options.
Geely has been steadily building its European presence through the EX5 electric SUV and other models, and the Battleship 700 would add a larger, more family-oriented option to that effort. More details on specifications, pricing and exact launch timing are expected closer to the market introduction.
