EHang Brings Its Global Fast Track Program to Vietnam

EHang is widening its Global Fast Track Program to Vietnam, teaming up with Hanoi authorities and local partner HungViet Technology and Investment Trading JSC to set up a regulatory sandbox for pilotless eVTOL aircraft.
The memorandum of understanding involves HungViet and Hanoi’s Department of Science and Technology. Testing will focus on EHang’s EH216-S autonomous passenger aircraft and is planned at Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park, pending approvals. Vietnam becomes the program’s second participating country after Sri Lanka.
Each side carries a distinct role. Hanoi DOST will guide the sandbox application and approval process, HungViet will supply technical, financial and staffing resources, and EHang will provide the EH216-S, its operational technology and training support. The early phase will involve controlled EH216-S flights, with the partners also looking at an unmanned aircraft traffic management model and an operations control centre model.
The scope may reach beyond passenger flights. EHang says the parties will run phased technical verification of both passenger and cargo versions of the EH216 series, shaped by Vietnam’s regulations, operating conditions and commercial opportunities. The company is also eyeing other Vietnamese cities such as Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang, targeting urban mobility and tourism services, and says it has discussed similar sandboxes with aviation authorities and government representatives in several Asia-Pacific countries.
