BYD Surpasses 10,000 Installed 1.5MW Flash Chargers, On Track for 20,000 by Year-End

Just months after launching its ambitious flash charging infrastructure program, BYD says it has already deployed 10,000 of its ultra-fast 1.5-megawatt charging stations. The milestone represents a significant leap in the company’s push to reduce charging times for its electric vehicles, bringing the total to halfway toward its target of 20,000 stations by the end of the year.

The rapid installation pace underscores BYD’s aggressive strategy to build a comprehensive high-power charging network, which complements its lineup of vehicles designed to handle such extreme power levels. These chargers are aimed at addressing one of the key remaining barriers to EV adoption: lengthy charging stops on long journeys.
