Archer and BETA Join Forces to Build Shared eVTOL Charging Network in Texas

Two of the leading players in electric aviation are teaming up on the ground infrastructure side. Archer Aviation and BETA Technologies have announced plans to develop an interoperable charging network across Texas, aimed at supporting the growing number of electric aircraft operators in the state.

The core idea is interoperability: rather than each manufacturer building its own proprietary charging hardware, the two companies want their systems to work together. That approach could make it easier for air taxi operators to move between locations without worrying about whether their aircraft is compatible with the charger on hand.

Texas has emerged as a focal point for advanced air mobility development in the United States, and a shared charging backbone would give pilots and operators more flexibility as electric aircraft move closer to commercial service. The initiative signals that infrastructure coordination — not just aircraft design — is becoming a priority for the sector.
