Altilium Gains First UK Patent for EcoCathode Battery Recycling Process

UK-based Altilium has secured its first patent on home soil for its EcoCathode technology, a recycling process aimed at reclaiming battery-grade materials from retired lithium-ion batteries. The patent recognizes the company’s method for recovering and regenerating cathode materials, which are vital for producing new EV batteries.

The EcoCathode process is designed to create a closed-loop supply chain, reducing the reliance on mined raw materials like lithium, cobalt, and nickel.
