AACA Double National Champion 1952 Ford Customline Fordor Heads to a New Garage

A 1952 Ford Customline Fordor that has twice taken home the top prize at the AACA Nationals is now being offered for sale in Cheshire, Connecticut, with an asking price of $20,500. The car carries a clean title and shows roughly 80,000 miles on the odometer, a figure its seller says reflects genuine use across more than seven decades.

The Customline nameplate landed in the middle of Ford’s 1952 lineup, and this example was ordered as a four-door sedan. Its first owner commissioned a thorough restoration in the 1980s, straightening the body panels before respraying them in the factory Glenmist Green shade. The work paid off: the car earned a National Champion trophy at the 1993 AACA Nationals in Hershey, Pennsylvania, then repeated the feat in 2013 under a later owner, making it a two-time national champion.

Under the hood sits Ford’s 239-cubic-inch flathead V8, paired with a Ford-O-Matic automatic transmission. According to period Ford literature, output for 1952 rose to 110 horsepower and 194 lb-ft of torque, up from the previous year’s ratings. The engine bay was detailed during the restoration, and the seller reports the motor starts easily and runs cleanly. Drum brakes and unassisted steering are part of the package, though the car is described as tracking straight and steering tightly. Inside, the cabin was retrimmed in Green Velveteen cloth with two-tone green vinyl accents and a dark green headliner, and it retains a clock and a working valve-operated pushbutton radio.

The seller, who bought the car in 2024, says it spends most of its time stored in a heated garage and deserves to be driven more often. Minor paint chips are noted from real-world use, though the underside is described as notably clean for a vehicle of this age. The car is available for in-person inspection, and the seller is open to providing extra photos or video.
