Xpeng Spins Off Robotics Unit in $6.3B Valuation Round

Xpeng has officially separated its robotics division into an independent entity, Dogotix, which has attracted substantial investor interest. The newly formed company has already lined up $900 million in committed funding, demonstrating strong market confidence in its potential.
A significant portion of this capital, approximately $600 million, is coming from a group of prominent external backers. Notable names in this investor group include IDG Capital, Alibaba, Tencent, and Gaorong Ventures, all of whom are betting on the future of embodied AI and advanced robotics.
The spin-off marks a strategic move for Xpeng, allowing it to sharpen its focus on its core automotive business while giving the robotics unit the autonomy to innovate and grow independently. This development underscores the growing convergence of automotive technology and robotics within the broader mobility ecosystem.
