Xpeng Closes September at 2026 Peak, Quarterly Deliveries Set New Record

Xpeng wrapped up September with 41,256 vehicles handed over to customers, the strongest single-month result the Chinese EV maker has posted so far this year. The figure edged up 5.50 percent compared with August, though it slipped 0.78 percent short of the same month a year earlier — a result that snapped a run of three straight months of year-on-year gains stretching from June to August.

The monthly tally fed into a record third quarter. Xpeng moved 118,390 vehicles between July and September, up 2.05 percent year-on-year and 14.61 percent over the prior quarter, clearing the company’s earlier peak of 116,249 units from the final quarter of last year. It also landed just above the midpoint of the 115,000–121,000 guidance range Xpeng had issued in late August.

Through the first nine months, cumulative deliveries stood at 284,367 vehicles, still 9.20 percent below the year-earlier pace, although the gap narrowed from 10.49 percent at the eight-month mark. Two models carried much of the September load: the Mona L03 topped 10,000 units as production capacity continued to build, with launches now underway in Hong Kong, the Philippines, Australia and Indonesia, while the six-seat GX flagship contributed 7,224 deliveries — its third consecutive month above 7,000 units.

Looking ahead, Xpeng introduced the five-seat G9L in China on September 17 with a promotional starting price of 231,800 yuan ($34,420), offered with both battery-electric and extended-range powertrains. A Paris launch is planned for October, following the first right-hand-drive units that rolled off the line earlier in the month for shipment to Australia. CEO He Xiaopeng has set a target of surpassing 60,000 monthly sales in the fourth quarter, a goal that sits roughly 45 percent above September’s volume and hinges on the G9L and the upcoming Mona L05 SUV.
