Xiaomi Auto Breaks 40,000 Monthly Deliveries as Sky Nomad Line Joins the Range

Xiaomi’s automotive division has recorded its strongest month of 2026 so far, delivering more than 40,000 vehicles in September. That figure, shared by the company on Weibo, surpasses its previous 2026 highs and reflects the arrival of the newly introduced Sky Nomad series, which launched on September 7 as Xiaomi’s first move into the extended-range EV segment.

Sky Nomad is available in several configurations, including the five-seat N70 Pro and N70 Max, the seven-seat N90 Max and the five-seat N90 Max Studio. Pricing opens at 209,900 yuan, and Xiaomi reported over 10,000 locked-in orders within four minutes of the launch. The lineup moves Xiaomi beyond its all-electric SU7 sedan and YU7 SUV, targeting family-focused buyers with a model that pairs a 505 km CLTC battery range on the N70 Max with a combined 1,705 km range on the N90 Max when both battery and fuel tank are full.

The broader picture, however, is less comfortable. EREV retail sales in China dropped 15.85 percent year-on-year across the first eight months of 2026, and Xiaomi needs substantial momentum to close out its annual goal of 550,000 vehicles. Having delivered at least 286,475 units through September, the company would need to average around 87,842 monthly deliveries in the fourth quarter to reach that target. Xiaomi’s first-month sales report for Sky Nomad, expected after October 7, will offer the clearest signal yet of whether the new range can carry that weight.
