Waymo Reportedly Lining Up Berlin as Its Next Robotaxi City

Waymo appears to be laying the groundwork for a robotaxi rollout in Berlin, according to statements from the city’s administration. The Berlin government has indicated that a pilot phase could get underway before the end of the year, though the company has so far stayed silent on the matter, neither confirming nor denying the plans.

The development comes as Waymo, which grew out of Google’s self-driving car initiative, also works toward launching commercial robotaxi operations in Munich. Taken together, the two German cities point to a broader European push by the US operator, which has already built a robotaxi presence in several American markets.
