Tyred Introduces AI-Powered Connected Insurance for Cyclists and Fleets

British mobility tech startup Tyred has unveiled an AI-native, IoT-connected insurance service that brings behavior-based pricing to cyclists and micromobility operators. The platform, authorized by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), is starting its rollout in the UK with the goal of moving beyond conventional underwriting metrics like rider postcodes. Instead, it draws on real-time, first-party data to assess risk.

By connecting to devices and leveraging AI, Tyred aims to make insurance more responsive to actual riding behavior rather than static demographic markers. The service is designed for both individual cyclists and micromobility fleets, positioning itself as a modern alternative to traditional insurance models. The company says every eligible rider or fleet can access the connected platform as part of the initial UK launch.
