TVS Motor Posts 29% January Sales Jump, Two-Wheeler Demand Stays Firm

TVS Motor Company has started the year on a strong note, reporting a 29% year-on-year rise in sales for January 2026. The gain points to sustained buyer interest in its two-wheeler range despite a market that has been uneven for much of the past year.

The Chennai-based manufacturer has leaned on a broad portfolio that stretches from commuter motorcycles to premium and electric scooters. That mix has helped it capture demand across different price points rather than relying on a single segment.

A 29% jump is a meaningful figure in a category where single-digit growth is often the norm. It also gives the company momentum as it prepares for the next phase of competition in India’s two-wheeler space, where electric models are steadily gaining ground.

Investors and dealers will now watch whether the January pace can hold through the rest of the quarter, or whether it reflects a one-off boost from festive carryover and inventory restocking.
