The ePlane Company Partners with Noida Airport to Build Electric Air Taxi Infrastructure

The ePlane Company has signed a partnership with Noida International Airport to develop infrastructure for electric air taxis, marking a step toward integrating short-range electric aviation into India’s urban transport network.
Under the collaboration, the two sides will work on the groundwork needed to support electric vertical take-off and landing operations at the airport, which is being built to serve the Delhi National Capital Region. The agreement focuses on preparing the airport to handle air taxi services rather than on launching commercial flights immediately.
Electric air taxis are being pursued globally as a potential solution for short urban trips, promising to bypass congested roads by moving passengers through the air over relatively short distances. Supporters argue that pairing eVTOL aircraft with existing airports could create new connections between cities and their surrounding regions. The main challenges remain certification, battery performance, and the cost of building the necessary ground infrastructure.
For Noida International Airport, the tie-up fits a broader effort to position itself as a modern hub open to emerging aviation technologies. For The ePlane Company, access to airport infrastructure could offer a testing and operational base as it works to bring its electric aircraft closer to service.
The partnership does not yet include a timeline for initial flights, and both parties will need to clear regulatory approvals before any electric air taxi operations begin. The agreement signals growing interest in India’s electric aviation sector, but also highlights how early the infrastructure stage remains.
