Tesla Adds V2L And A Bigger Screen To The Model 3, But Not For America Yet

Tesla has quietly refreshed the Model 3 for several overseas markets, and the headline addition is something rivals have offered for years: vehicle-to-load capability. Cars built from the fourth quarter onward in China, Australia, New Zealand and South Korea can now send power out of their high-voltage pack through an adapter that slots into the charge port — enough to run tools, appliances or camping gear at a combined draw of roughly 2.2 kilowatts.

The same markets also see the feature spread across every Model Y variant, while stateside buyers remain limited to the Cybertruck and the upper Model Y trims. American cars need a separate adapter that connects through the mobile charger and delivers about 2.4 kW from two outlets.

Inside, the sedan swaps its 15.4-inch central display for a 16-inch panel with sharper pixel density — likely the same unit that reached the Model Y earlier this year — and the cabin gains a black headliner, a Zen Grey seat option and 19-inch Dark Nova wheels. One caveat worth flagging: older Model 3 and Model Y cars cannot be retrofitted, because the onboard hardware differs. And even with the adapter, the output is modest — enough for a fridge and a few essentials during an outage, not an entire home.
