Swiss Charging Market Consolidates: Energie 360° Unveils Joya as New Umbrella Brand

Switzerland’s charging landscape just got a major player. Energie 360° — a utility largely owned by the city of Zurich — is folding three acquired charging businesses plus its own mobility division into a single new brand: Joya. The consolidation brings together Energie 360° Mobilität, Swisscharge (a charging pioneer dating back to 2014), Gofast (fully acquired in 2022), and last year’s addition, Move Mobility, which on its own contributed 4,700 charging points. Romeo Deplazes, CEO of Energie 360°, framed the move as building a stronger, customer-centric mobility company under Joya Mobility AG.

The numbers behind the new entity are substantial. Joya reports that its public charging network now spans 7,500 points across Switzerland — 2,200 run under its own tariffs and 5,300 operated on behalf of partners such as Coop. Fast charging accounts for 1,800 of those. While the company also cites a 25,000-point figure, that total includes private and fleet installations, so the public-facing count is the one that matters for everyday drivers.

Customer tools are arriving alongside the rebrand. A new Joya app is due soon, promising charging-point discovery, transparent pricing, subscription management, and one-tap session starts and payments. A separate B2B portal will serve businesses and fleet operators with controls for user groups, pricing, and stations. CEO Reto Baschera summed up the pitch: a nationwide network, one app, clear pricing, and appealing subscriptions for both individuals and companies. Already, the first sites have switched to Joya signage, with the remaining locations set to follow over the coming months.

Looking ahead, Joya has committed roughly 150 million Swiss francs (around €160 million) through 2030 to grow the national network. Baschera said the goal is not just to defend the market-leading position but to extend it, keeping a meaningful share of the value chain inside Switzerland. To lock in repeat customers, Joya is also planning a loyalty programme, roaming deals tailored to neighbouring countries, and Autocharge/Plug & Charge capability by 2027. For parent company Energie 360°, the shift is strategic: the utility name will now stand purely for energy solutions, while Joya carries the e-mobility flag as a wholly owned subsidiary.
