Stelato V8 Opens Pre-Sales in China as Huawei-Backed Brand Enters the MPV Arena

Stelato has officially stepped into the multi-purpose vehicle segment, kicking off pre-sales for its V8 model in China. The brand — a collaboration between Huawei and BAIC — now fields a family-oriented flagship that slots in below its existing SUV and sedan offerings. Pricing for the V8 begins at 329,800 yuan (roughly $48,930), and early buyers can claim a package worth 6,000 yuan, which bundles a deposit bonus, a temporary wheel discount and priority handover.

Buyers can pick between a fully electric drivetrain and an extended-range setup. The battery-electric V8 runs on an 800-volt architecture and a 120 kWh pack, delivering a CLTC range of 830 km in rear-wheel-drive form or 775 km with all-wheel drive. Output stands at 227 kW for the single-motor variant and 387 kW for the dual-motor version. The EREV variants pair a 1.5-liter turbocharged range extender with either a 56 kWh or 75.4 kWh battery, yielding combined CLTC ranges of 1,365 km and 1,465 km.

Measuring 5,335 mm long with a 3,250 mm wheelbase, the V8 offers a seven-seat 2+2+3 layout and comes standard with Huawei’s ADS driver-assistance suite. Stelato says the platform was engineered with Level 3 autonomous driving in mind and carries 38 sensors, including an 896-channel roof-mounted LiDAR that forms part of a four-LiDAR arrangement. The V8 becomes the brand’s fourth nameplate, following the S9 sedan, S9T wagon and G9 off-road SUV.

The premium MPV space in China is already crowded, with the V8 set to face the BYD-backed Denza D9, Xpeng’s X9 and the similarly proportioned Luxeed V9 from within the same Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance.
