Shenghao's Milly E03 Rethinks the Urban Microcar for Chinese Families

Shenghao used an event in Jinan on 23 September 2026 to introduce the Milly E03, a compact electric runabout aimed at the school run and other short urban errands. The company says the Milly line it belongs to has moved close to 100,000 units, with the Milly E01 leading the way.

The E03 borrows its core idea from European quadricycles such as the Citroën Ami and Fiat Topolino, but Shenghao says it was reworked for Chinese conditions, including the chaos of crowded school gates. Its standout feature is an unpainted matte thermoplastic body, which skips the paint shop entirely. According to the company, the material soaks up minor knocks and can be recycled.

Power comes from a 1,500W motor that takes the car from 0 to 30 km/h in about eight seconds and lets it climb a 20% gradient when fully loaded. The body is only slightly more than a metre wide, and equipment includes a 360° camera view, collision warning and a 9.3-inch touchscreen. Shenghao’s Lingxi Smart Control System 2.0 brings keyless entry, app-based locating, digital key sharing and geofencing, while six colour options round out the smartphone-like pitch. A braking feature called SSS Rapid Stop is claimed to shorten stopping distances by 1.07 m.

Four versions are planned, but Shenghao did not disclose prices, battery capacity or range — the details that normally decide success in a segment where low running costs are the main draw.
