Pos Malaysia Electrifies a Third of Its Parcel Deliveries

Malaysia’s national postal operator has reached a notable milestone in its decarbonisation drive. Pos Malaysia now says that roughly one in every three parcels it handles moves on electric power, spanning operations across Peninsular Malaysia as well as Sabah and Sarawak.

The company’s zero-emission roster has grown to 1,585 vehicles, split between 1,253 electric two-wheelers and 332 electric vans, following an August 2026 intake. That is a marked step up from the prior year, when EVs covered only around 20 per cent of parcel deliveries. Most of the two-wheeled contingent is made up of Modenas MEV-1 Pro scooters, which offer a 135-kilometre range; the unit count follows a large November 2024 order.

On the four-wheel side, Pos Malaysia leases the CAM EC35 and Maxus eDeliver 3 through Yinson GreenTech’s leasing arm drivEV, while a 246-unit Maxus eDeliver 5 order placed earlier this year is being phased in, with 525 electric vans expected in service by the end of the year.

The operator’s electrification programme has drawn attention from the UN Global Compact Network Malaysia, Brunei and Cambodia. Since FY2023, its EV fleet has logged 28.8 million kilometres and avoided 3,881 tonnes of CO2, and the company intends to convert all first- and last-mile delivery vehicles to electric by 2030.
