Polestar Rolls Out Two New Fast-Charging Subscription Tiers in Europe

Polestar is reshaping how its customers pay for public fast charging in Europe, introducing a pair of subscription plans under its Polestar Charge umbrella. Dubbed Plus and Pro, the tiers promise reduced rates at a handpicked roster of charging networks in exchange for a monthly fee.

The entry-level Plus plan carries a €7.99 monthly charge in Germany and knocks 15 per cent off sessions at EnBW, Shell Recharge, Vattenfall, Mer and Fastned. Stepping up to Pro costs €14.99 per month and raises the discount to 30 per cent, while also adding Ionity and Allego to the list of participating operators. According to Polestar, Plus subscribers can tap into more than 104,000 discounted charge points across Europe, with Pro reaching over 118,000 — gains of 26 per cent and 43 per cent respectively over the previous offer. In Germany alone, the discounted footprint grows to beyond 14,000 points for Plus and 17,000 for Pro, up 32 per cent and 64 per cent.

Beyond the tariffs, Polestar says its roaming network now spans over 1.25 million public charging points in Europe, Tesla Superchargers included, accessible through the Polestar app, a charging card or Plug & Charge on compatible cars. The service, launched in 2024 alongside Plugsurfing, started with roughly 650,000 points, meaning its reach has nearly doubled. Polestar also notes 161,000 charging sessions were logged between June and August 2026.

The move comes as Polestar looks to sharpen its appeal to drivers. Global sales in the first half of 2026 were flat, and the company has trimmed its full-year growth outlook to a low to mid-single-digit range. Whether Plus or Pro makes financial sense hinges on individual habits — Plus suits occasional fast charging, while Pro is pitched at those plugging in regularly.
