Omoda & Jaecoo Set Sights on Canada With Late-2026 Debut and an Electrified Lineup

Two fast-rising Chinese brands under the Chery umbrella are preparing to enter the Canadian market. Omoda and Jaecoo have confirmed plans to start selling vehicles in Canada in late 2026, bringing a mix of fully electric and plug-in hybrid models to buyers there.
The lineup is expected to lean heavily on electrified powertrains, with both battery-electric and plug-in hybrid options forming the core of the launch. That two-pronged approach lets the brands appeal to early EV adopters while also offering a stepping-stone for drivers who aren’t ready to go fully electric.
The move marks another step in the global expansion of Chery’s export-focused brands, which have been pushing into new markets across Europe, Latin America and beyond. Canada’s EV incentives and growing charging network make it an attractive target for newcomers.
A late-2026 timeline gives Omoda and Jaecoo roughly a year to build out dealer and service networks before vehicles reach customers. More details on specific models, pricing and trim levels are expected closer to launch.
