Norwegian Firm CityQ Earns First EN 17860 Safety Certification for a Four-Wheel Cargo Bike in Europe

CityQ, a cargo bike manufacturer based in Norway, has secured a European first: its four-wheeled cargo bike is now certified under EN 17860, a newly introduced safety standard for cargo bikes. No other European maker of four-wheel cargo bikes has reached this milestone yet.

The certification gives CityQ a regulatory edge in a segment where safety rules are still taking shape. EN 17860 sets out requirements for cargo bike design and construction, and meeting it signals that the vehicle has passed independent scrutiny.
