NIO Closes Strong Third Quarter With 49% Delivery Growth in 2026

NIO wrapped up the first nine months of 2026 with a substantial jump in deliveries, underscoring the brand’s expanding footprint in the premium electric vehicle segment. September alone accounted for 37,408 vehicles handed over to customers, a modest 4.4% gain from August and a 7.7% improvement compared with the same month a year earlier. While those monthly figures are solid, the broader picture is far more striking.

Across the third quarter, NIO moved 109,178 units, up 25% from the 87,071 deliveries recorded in Q3 2025. The year-to-date tally tells an even bigger story: deliveries climbed from 201,221 in the first three quarters of 2025 to 300,301 in 2026, translating to a 49% year-over-year surge. Cumulative deliveries since the company’s inception now stand at 1,297,893 as of the end of Q3.

Breaking down September by brand, the flagship NIO marque contributed 21,318 vehicles, while the ONVO sub-brand added 8,763 and the compact FIREFLY line accounted for 7,327. NIO also highlighted two notable product milestones: the All-New ES8, on its first anniversary since launch, crossed 150,000 deliveries — the highest cumulative figure among large SUVs and vehicles priced above RMB 400,000 in their debut year. Meanwhile, the ES9 surpassed 30,000 deliveries since its May 28, 2026 launch, holding the top monthly sales spot among battery electric vehicles above RMB 500,000 for three months running.

These results reinforce NIO’s standing in the high-end electric SUV arena, where it leans on flagship models, comprehensive service packages and a well-developed charging and battery-swapping network to keep momentum going.
