Nio Closes Out Q3 on Target as September Deliveries Reach 37,408

Nio wrapped up September with 37,408 vehicles handed over to customers, a figure that nudged past August’s tally by 4.39% and climbed 7.65% compared with the same month last year, according to company data released Thursday. The result was enough to keep the Chinese EV maker inside the delivery guidance it issued on September 1.
For the full third quarter, Nio handed over 109,178 vehicles — a 25.39% jump year-on-year and a modest 1.41% gain over the prior quarter. That total landed within the 108,000–111,000 range the company had projected, clearing the floor by 1,178 units while falling 1,822 short of the ceiling. It also marked an improvement on the previous quarter, when Nio missed its own guidance.
The month’s rebound came largely from Firefly, which set a fresh monthly record with 7,327 deliveries, beating its previous high of 7,084 from December 2025 and accounting for the bulk of the company’s overall gain. The core Nio brand contributed 21,318 vehicles, up 55.29% year-on-year, while Onvo slipped 42.52% to 8,763, its second straight year-on-year decline. Across the quarter, the flagship Nio brand moved 62,500 units and Firefly 18,950, offsetting Onvo’s 26.36% drop to 27,728.
Large battery-electric SUVs continue to anchor the Nio brand. The third-generation ES8 crossed 150,000 cumulative deliveries on September 20, the first anniversary of its launch, while the flagship ES9 hit 30,000 cumulative deliveries on September 23 — just 119 days after customer handovers began. Through the first nine months of the year, Nio has delivered 300,301 vehicles, up 49.24% year-on-year, bringing its lifetime total to 1,297,893.
