Nikola Opens Its First HYLA Hydrogen Refueling Site in Ontario, California

Nikola has cut the ribbon on its debut HYLA-branded hydrogen fueling location, situated in Ontario, California. The site is built around a modular design concept, which the company says allows for quicker installation and easier scaling as demand grows.

The modular approach means the station can be expanded in phases rather than requiring a large upfront buildout. Nikola positions the Ontario location as the starting point of a broader network intended to support hydrogen-powered commercial trucks operating in the region.

The opening reflects Nikola’s ongoing effort to pair its fuel-cell electric vehicles with a refueling infrastructure that customers can actually rely on. Building that network has been a central part of the company’s strategy as it works to convince fleet operators to adopt hydrogen trucks.
