Luxeed RX Electric Coupe SUV Hits China at $38,550, Taking Aim at Xiaomi YU7

Luxeed, the EV marque formed through the Huawei-Chery partnership, has pulled the wraps off its RX electric coupe SUV in China. Pricing opens at 259,800 yuan (about $38,550), and the lineup spreads across six trim levels that climb to 389,800 yuan. That entry figure undercuts the pre-sales starting point announced earlier, and buyers ordering now can tap limited-time perks valued at up to 40,500 yuan.

The RX slots in as the brand’s fourth nameplate, following the S7 sedan, R7 coupe SUV and V9 MPV. At 5,020 mm long, 2,007 mm wide and 1,585 mm tall, with a 3,000 mm wheelbase, it lands squarely in China’s mid-to-large electric crossover space. Its most direct rival is the Xiaomi YU7, while the Tesla Model Y and IM Motors LS6 also trade in the same territory.

Underneath sits Huawei’s Tuling architecture, paired with a new-generation drive system whose motors spin to 21,000 rpm. Rear-drive versions rely on a 277 kW motor, and all-wheel-drive builds add a 160 kW unit up front. Buyers pick between an 81 kWh LFP battery and a 100 kWh ternary lithium pack, unlocking CLTC ranges from 672 km up to 852 km. All versions run an 800-volt setup that refills from 30 to 80 percent in roughly 15 minutes, with a quickest 0-100 km/h sprint of 3.6 seconds.

Driver assistance is a headline item: a 38-sensor suite with four LiDAR units, including an 896-channel dual-optical-path imaging LiDAR and three solid-state units. The platform is engineered for Level 3 autonomy with redundancy across eight systems, and Luxeed says it has secured a Level 3 road-test permit and is validating the car in complex traffic. Inside, a 26-inch AR head-up display, a 16.1-inch swiveling center touchscreen and an 8.88-inch passenger screen round out the cabin.
