Lucid Brings Its Certified Pre-Owned Programme to European Buyers

Lucid Motors is opening a second-hand channel in Europe under the name “Lucid Recharged Certified Pre-Owned”. The programme debuts in four markets — Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands and Norway — with used Lucid Air electric saloons listed through the manufacturer’s own online inventory. The Gravity electric SUV is expected to join the scheme at a later stage.

To qualify, a car must be under five years old and show fewer than 100,000 kilometres on the clock. Accepted vehicles are put through a 163-point inspection and reconditioned to Lucid’s retail standards, and buyers receive paperwork covering the car’s condition and history. Any unused portion of the original new-car warranty carries over, and each certified vehicle adds at least one year of Lucid warranty plus roadside assistance.

Pricing shows the appeal of the route. On the German used-vehicle listing, several Lucid Air Pure examples are advertised at €70,836 apiece, while a new Air Pure starts at €85,900 — roughly €15,000 less than factory-fresh. The Air offers up to 960 kilometres of WLTP range and outputs reaching 920 kW depending on variant, so the pre-owned listings give newcomers a cheaper way into a line-up that has so far been sold almost exclusively as high-end new cars in Europe.

The move lands while Lucid reshapes its business. Under CEO Silvio Napoli, the company is targeting savings of about US$1.4 billion in 2026, and its planned mid-range models have slipped to the second half of 2027. Until those arrive, Lucid stays anchored in the premium segment with the Air and Gravity, and the Recharged scheme adds a used channel that widens its customer base while keeping residual values and service cover tied more closely to the manufacturer.
