Li Auto to Roll Out In-House Batteries Across Its Lineup, Refreshed i6 Arriving in Q4

Li Auto is preparing a broad strategic shift toward self-developed battery packs, moving its future models away from supplier CATL and toward cells engineered within the company itself. The transition is expected to touch the entire lineup rather than a single nameplate, signaling a deeper push by the automaker into core EV component development.

Two models are named as the first to make the change: the next-generation Li Mega and the upcoming Li i9. Both will gradually adopt Li Auto’s in-house battery technology, according to the company’s plans.

Alongside the battery strategy, Li Auto also intends to launch a refreshed version of its i6 model in the fourth quarter, adding another product update to its near-term roadmap.
