Leapmotor Reveals Sporty A10s Electric SUV in Black and Red

Leapmotor has offered a first look at a new variant of its A10 small electric SUV, a version it calls the A10s, distinguished by a black exterior and red styling touches. The Chinese automaker shared both exterior and interior previews through its Weibo account, but stopped short of revealing how much the model will cost, when it will go on sale, or what will power it.

Judging by what has been shown so far, the A10s reads as a cosmetic special edition of the existing A10. The body wears a finish dubbed “Mirror Night Black,” paired with gunmetal-gray badging, eighteen-inch black sport wheels and a red “S” badge on the rear. Inside, Leapmotor has applied a “Modern Gray” theme, with seats that mix suede and synthetic leather, accented by red stitching and custom embroidery, plus ventilated front seats and rear ambient lighting. Whether the drivetrain carries over unchanged has not been confirmed.

The timing of the reveal is notable. The A10 notched its first month-over-month delivery drop since arriving on the market, with 24,457 units handed over in September, a 24.08 percent slide from August’s record 32,214. Even so, the model still represented 23.15 percent of Leapmotor’s total monthly deliveries, underscoring how central it has become to the brand’s volume. Cumulative A10 deliveries stood at 153,423 through the end of September.

The A10 launched in China on March 26 in four trim levels, priced from 65,800 yuan to 86,800 yuan at introduction, with the range-topping version fitted with LiDAR. It uses a 90 kW motor and offers a choice of 39.8 kWh or 53 kWh battery packs, rated for CLTC ranges of 403 kilometers and 505 kilometers respectively. It also holds the distinction of being the first global model built on Leapmotor’s A platform. Production momentum has been strong: the 100,000th A10 rolled off the line on August 7, only 135 days after launch, a company record.

Beyond China, the A10’s overseas counterpart, the B03X, began taking pre-orders in Europe in early July and swaps in a more powerful 145 kW motor. The A10s teaser lands as Leapmotor pushes ahead with its European localization plans, including B10 production in Spain.
