Škoda Adds Sportline Trim to Epiq Lineup, 440 km Range on Top Version

Škoda is broadening its compact electric crossover family with a new Sportline grade, slotting the sharpened Epiq into the German market as the Epiq 40 and Epiq 55. Buyers in Germany will be able to place orders from late October, with the Czech brand promising up to 155 kW and a maximum range of 440 kilometres.

The entry point of the two-motor lineup is the Epiq 40, which pairs a 38.5 kWh gross battery (37 kWh usable) with a 99 kW electric motor producing 267 Nm of torque. Škoda quotes a range of more than 310 kilometres and a 10-80 per cent charging time of 23 minutes. Stepping up to the Epiq 55 brings a 55 kWh gross (52 kWh net) pack and 155 kW of output along with 290 Nm, cutting the 0-100 km/h sprint to 7.1 seconds while extending range to as much as 440 kilometres and charging from 10 to 80 per cent in 24 minutes. Both versions are limited to a 160 km/h top speed.

The mechanical package carries over unchanged from the standard Epiq, so the Sportline treatment is mainly a visual and equipment story. Glossy black lettering, black roof rails and mirror caps, plus 19-inch alloy wheels as standard and optional 20-inch rims, set it apart; it is also the only Epiq variant that can be ordered with a contrasting black roof. Inside, buyers get electrically adjustable sports seats in microfibre, a heated three-spoke sports steering wheel with regeneration paddles, and a black headliner.

Standard kit is generous for the segment. Matrix LED headlights, LED tail lights and an illuminated front light strip are included, as are dual-zone climate control, heated front seats, parking sensors, a reversing camera, keyless entry and inductive phone charging at up to 15 watts. In Germany, the Travel Package bundling Travel Assist 3.0, navigation and Škoda Connect Premium is also fitted as standard. An optional Premium Package adds a 360-degree camera, a Canton sound system, a 25-litre front storage compartment and remote as well as trained parking functions.

Pricing for the Sportline has not been confirmed yet. For reference, the regular Epiq 40 starts at €27,900 in Germany and the Epiq 55 at €32,100, while a lower-powered Epiq 35 with 85 kW becomes orderable in October from €25,900. At 4.17 metres long, the Epiq sits within the Volkswagen Group’s “Electric Urban Car Family” and shares the evolved MEB+ platform with the VW ID. Polo, ID. Cross and Cupra Raval. In Austria, the base Epiq 35 is already on sale, though some variants there list slightly different performance and range figures.
