Kia EV3 Off to a Steady Start in the US After 500+ Sales in First Full Month

Kia’s newest electric entry, the EV3, is officially on American roads, and early demand suggests the small crossover is finding its footing. During its first complete month on the market, the automaker moved 514 units of the 2027 EV3 in the US, a modest figure next to volume leaders like the Sportage but one that fits the typical ramp-up curve for a freshly launched nameplate.
The EV3 joins the US market at a 30,000 to about $46,000, with range figures stretching from 221 miles on the base Light FWD to 321 miles on the Wind and Land FWD variants.
The broader sales picture at Kia has been strong. The brand recorded its best September in the US since entering the market in 1992, surpassing 77,000 deliveries last month, while Q3 volume reached 221,664 vehicles — another quarterly record. Through the first nine months of 2026, Kia America has sold 667,386 vehicles, roughly 5% ahead of the same stretch a year ago. Company executives credit a broad lineup spanning multiple powertrains and say the momentum sets the brand up for an ambitious 2027.
Whether the EV3 can replicate its overseas success — it finished its first full sales year as the UK’s third most popular EV and ranked tenth across Europe — remains an open question, since smaller SUVs have historically held less sway with American shoppers. Still, a sub-$30,000 electric SUV with modern technology and quick charging is a compelling combination, and upcoming sales reports will show how quickly the EV3 climbs Kia’s US charts.
