Geely Hits 2026 Sales Peak in September, But Export Boom Pauses

Geely Auto closed September with its strongest monthly volume of the year, moving 292,168 vehicles worldwide. That figure represents a 6.97% gain over the same month last year and an 8.13% improvement on August, giving the automaker a third straight month of year-on-year growth above 5%.
The headline number hid a shift beneath the surface. Exports totaled 106,685 units, a 162.35% surge versus September of last year, yet a 3.10% dip from August’s 110,094. That single monthly retreat snapped a run of eight consecutive record export months, and exports slid to 37% of total sales from 41% a month earlier.
At home, Geely sold 185,483 vehicles in China, its best domestic month since January even though volume fell 20.21% year on year. The rate of decline narrowed for a second consecutive month, improving from 25.22% in August and 29.12% in July.
New energy vehicles did much of the heavy lifting: 190,868 NEVs were delivered, up 15.54% year on year and equal to 65% of the total. Battery electric sales climbed 25.86% to 125,254, while plug-in hybrids stayed essentially flat at 65,614. By brand, the core Geely marque including Galaxy reached 236,459 units, Galaxy alone contributing 130,479, and Zeekr jumped 103.85% to 37,216. Lynk & Co was the outlier, sliding 43.79% to 18,493 — its sharpest drop of the year.
