Chery Auto Records 14% Growth in August Sales, Exports Comprise Over 70%

In August, Chery Auto saw a significant surge in its global sales, reaching 262,990 units, a 14% increase compared to the same period last year. This robust performance was primarily fueled by its export operations, which accounted for a remarkable 187,154 vehicles, making up over 71% of the total sales volume. The strong export figures underline Chery’s expanding footprint in international markets.

While the Chinese domestic market also contributed, the overwhelming reliance on overseas sales signals a strategic shift in Chery’s business model. This growth trajectory is in line with the company’s broader expansion plans across Asia, Europe, and other key regions. As competition heats up in the domestic EV sector, leveraging global demand appears to be a winning strategy for Chery.

Industry analysts note that such high export ratios are unusual among major automakers, reflecting Chery’s early investments in global logistics and dealership networks. This momentum is expected to continue, although potential trade barriers and regional economic fluctuations could pose challenges ahead.
