BMW Maps Brings Navigation and ADAS Together in One 3D Display

BMW has rolled out a new version of its Maps system that folds navigation guidance and advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) information into a single three-dimensional view. Instead of splitting the driver’s focus between separate displays, the layout consolidates both streams of information on one screen.

The thinking behind the change is straightforward: when navigation cues and ADAS alerts live in different places, the driver has to process them in parallel. Combining them into a shared 3D environment turns that into a single visual task, which BMW suggests is easier for the driver to handle at a glance.
