BMW Group Taps Enilive's HVO Biofuel for Its Corporate Fleet

BMW Group has chosen Enilive’s HVO (hydrotreated vegetable oil) biofuel to power part of its fleet operations, marking another step in the automaker’s broader effort to cut carbon emissions from vehicles already on the road. The fuel, a drop-in diesel alternative, can be used in compatible diesel engines without hardware modifications.

HVO is produced from renewable feedstocks and is designed to lower lifecycle CO2 emissions compared with conventional fossil diesel. For BMW, the move complements its parallel push into battery-electric and hydrogen powertrains, addressing the existing diesel vehicles that will remain in service for years.

By adopting a renewable diesel for its own fleet, BMW signals that alternative fuels still have a role in decarbonizing transport even as electrification accelerates. The choice of Enilive, an Italian energy company, adds another supplier to BMW’s low-carbon fuel mix.
