Audi Boss Drops Hint: 987-HP V-8 Supercar May Get a Convertible Variant

Audi’s CEO has suggested that the brand’s new 987-horsepower V-8 supercar could spawn a convertible version. The upcoming flagship, which packs a twin-turbo V-8, is already generating buzz for its massive output. A drop-top variant would broaden the model’s appeal and add a fresh dimension to Audi’s performance lineup.

The convertible would likely share the same powertrain and chassis as the coupe, but with a retractable roof and added structural reinforcements. While no timeline has been confirmed, the CEO’s comments signal that Audi is seriously considering an open-air version.
