Aston Martin Splits DBX Lineup, Adds Comfort-Oriented DBX GT

Aston Martin is broadening the appeal of its SUV by dividing the DBX range into two distinct characters. Alongside the existing sport-focused model, the British marque has introduced a new GT variant that leans toward comfort and long-distance touring rather than outright athleticism.

The move lets Aston Martin cater to buyers who want the DBX’s imposing presence and performance but prefer a softer, more relaxed driving experience. Notably, the new GT derivative retains the same V8 powertrain already used across the SUV line, meaning the split is about tuning and character rather than a change in hardware.

By offering two flavors of the same vehicle, the company hopes to reach a wider cross-section of the luxury SUV market without developing an entirely new model. It is a pragmatic way to extend the life and reach of an established nameplate.
