The car represents one of the clearest examples of Lee Iacocca’s product instincts during his years at Ford, and it remains a favorite among collectors of American luxury machines.

What made the Mark III so effective was smart platform economics. Lincoln borrowed the foundations of the Ford Thunderbird and then gave the car its own identity through a bold, upright grille and a long-hood silhouette.
